At least 200 people have died while seven million others have been displaced as floods and rains wreaked havoc in India\'s eastern state of Bihar over the past two months, India\'s Disaster Management Department (DMD) revealed Monday. The DMD said the floods and rains inundated 20 districts, adding, incessant rains triggered floods in major rivers like Ganga, Sone, Budhi Gandak,and Kosi in Bihar. The DMD said the raging flood waters in the big rivers like Ganga is going low thus leading to improving of situation on the ground. The monsoon rains in eastern India starts from the month of June and ends in September. The DMD said the senior administrative officials of the local government have been put on high alert to meet any emergency situation arising of rains and floods. It further stressed that the relief operations in the flood-hit areas of Bihar were in full swing. The government has deployed many joint teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and state disaster response to deal with the flood situation. The DMD said many relief camps have been set for the 7 millions people affected by the floods.
