Rain-stormed triggered rock fall killed a tourist and injured 7 others

A rain-stormed triggered rock fall killed a tourist and injured seven others in a canyon in south China's Guangdong Province Friday, local authorities said.

The accident happened at 4:45 p.m. at the Grand Canyon in Ruyuan County, a major tourist attraction in mountains in the north of Guangdong Province.

The injured were being treated at two hospitals in Ruyuan County and Shaoguan City, the county government's press office said in a statement.

It said three of the cases were critical.
