At least one policeman was killed and three others wounded when a suicide bomber targeted the vehicle of security forces in Afghan capital city Kabul on Thursday.
Seddiq Seddiqi, spokesman of the Afghan Ministry of Interior, said in a statement the suicide bomber was planning to enter Kabul City, but police had started patrolling in the locality because of intelligence report regarding his presence.
The bomber smashed his car into the security forces vehicle in Dehsabz district of Kabul, said police. The security forces cordoned off the scene and a search operation went underway.
The injured were shifted to the nearby hospital where the condition of two were reported critical.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack saying that a convoy of national and international forces had been targeted in Dehsabz inflicting heavy casualties.
The suicide attack came at a time when the multi-national forces are preparing to leave Afghanistan closing the mission till end of December.
