At least three people were killed on Monday as their tugboat keeled over at a naval base in west Turkey. The acceded took place soon after the TCG Degirmendere tugboat set sail after a maintenance operation in the Aegean sea from Izmir harbor, according to a statement by the Turkish army command. The statement identified the three victims as two seamen and a civilian. Eight military personnel went missing after the accident, it said, adding that a search and rescue operation is underway.
