The small US plane that was unresponsive to US ground control for hours crashed in Jamaica, the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper reports, according to dpa.
The Gleaner tweets the update, citing Jamaican Defence Force officials. It says the plane crashed near Port Antonio.
The plane flew across Cuban airspace accompanied by Cuban fighter jets.
