Firefighters assist a man

A woman today died and eighty-three people were admitted to hospitals Washington DC due to smoke which filled a metro tunnel in Washington DC. Hundreds of people were evacuated from the L'Enfant Plaza station during which disrupted the traffic during the rush hour in Washington D. C.
Metro Transport Police said that there would be an investigation into the cause of the smoke. Washington DC Metrorail is the considered as the second busiest mass transit system after New York.
District of Columbia fire and emergency spokesman Timothy Wilson said that paramedics personnel examined dozens of people after the evacuation of the metro station. The source of the smoke was not immediately determined.
