South Korea's tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. filed the highest number of patents in Europe for the second consecutive year in 2013, data showed Wednesday. According to the data compiled by the European Patent Office (EPO), the world's No. 1 smartphone maker filed 2,833 patents in 2013, up 23.7 percent from the 2,289 cases a year earlier.
