The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) achieved gains worth 8.5 billion pounds during April. The total market capital achieved gains about 478.04 billion pounds against 469.52 billion pounds by the end of March. The EGX 30 benchmark index went up by 5.78 percent to close at 8,256.14 points. The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) rose by 2.355 percent to 609.4 points. The all-embracing EGX 100 index was up 2.22 percent to close at 1,064.32 points
