The benchmark index of the Indian equities market closed higher on Tuesday, with the 30-scrip sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, growing 60. 17 points or 0.27 percent to 22446.44 points, compared with the previous close of 22386.27 points. The Sensex had a turnover of 6.12 billion rupees (about 101.92 million U.S. dollars).
