Japan's trade deficit expanded to 909.0 billion yen (8.90 billion U.S. dollars) in May, remaining in red for the 23rd straight month, local media reported Wednesday.
Imports shed 3.6 percent on year while exports fell 2.7 percent, Japanese Finance Ministry said in a preliminary report. The country logged a trade deficit of 808.9 billion yen (about 7.90 billion dollars) in April.
