Nikkei ended slightly higher Friday on yen\'s fall, while investors awaited Japan\'s gross domestic product data due out next week for further trading cues.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average closed up 9.63 points, or 0. 07 percent, from Thursday at 13,615.19.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 1.32 points, or 0.12 percent, at 1,140. 91.
Gainers were led by nonferrous metal, machinery and sea transport issues, while decliners included precision machinery, mining and retail companies.
The turnover was about 2,030.9 billion yen (about 21.03 billion U.S. dollars).
