South Korean stocks finished flat after a choppy trading session Wednesday on mixed views on China's latest gross domestic product (GDP) report, analysts said. The South Korean won rose against the U.S. dollar.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) ended at 1,992.21, up 0.06 point from Tuesday. Trading volume was light at 224 million shares worth 3.23 trillion won (US$3.1 billion), with gainers leading losers 398 to 395.
