Tokyo shares ended the morning session Monday higher on a weaker yen with its Nikkei benchmark index rose to a two-week intraday high.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 91.71 points, or 0.63 percent, from Friday to end the morning at 14,607.98.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange climbed 4.80 points, or 0.41 percent, to 1, 178.17.
Gainers included export-oriented issues and mining, oil and paper shares.
