Tokyo shares opened slightly higher Tuesday tracing a buoyant overnight U.S. market where the Dow Jones industrial Average rebounded for the first time in five trading days.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average slightly gained 15.00 points, or 0.10 percent, from Monday to 15,489.50.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 1.39 points, or 0.11 percent, to 1,277. 58.
