Tokyo stocks opened lower Friday tracing overnight losses in the U.S. market.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 113.48 points, or 0.73 percent, from Thursday to 15,507.29.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 10.63 points, or 0.82 percent, at 1, 278.79.
