Tokyo shares rebounded from morning session's loss and ended Tuesday slightly higher as sentiment here was boosted by the hope for Japan's new growth strategy that is to be approved Tuesday.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched up 6.96 points, or 0. 05 percent, from Monday to end at 15,376.24.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 1.02 points, or 0.08 percent, at 1,268. 50.
Gainers were led by fishery and agriculture, food and air transport issues, while decliners included mining, real estate and automaker issues.
The turnover was about 1,865.0 billion yen (about 18.30 billion U.S. dollars).
