Tokyo stocks advanced Tuesday morning on bargain-hunting following the Nikkei’s four-day losing streak.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 119.90 points, or 0.86 percent, from Monday to 14,126.34. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 6.80 points, or 0.59 percent, to 1,156.87.
Gainers were led by nonferrous metal, brokerage, and mining shares, while bank, oil and coal shares lost ground.
