Tokyo stocks ended 0.50 percent higher on Friday, with the Nikkei index hitting a two-week closing high. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 73.14 points, from Thursday at 14,696.03. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 9.62 points, or 0.82 percent, at 1,186. 52. Gainers were led by brokerage, air transport and warehouse shares while textile, information and communication, and precision machinery shares lost ground.
