Tokyo stocks ended 0.88 percent lower in the morning session of Thursday, following overnight declines on Wall Street and the yen's appreciation against the dollar. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 126.07 points, from Wednesday to 14,279.69. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 9.95 points, or 0.84 percent, to 1,173. 20. Major decliners included brokerage, insurance and automaker issues.
