Tokyo shares ended lower Friday with Nikkei finishing at a fresh two-and-a-half-month low on a stronger yen.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 92.53 points, or 0.62 percent, from Thursday at 14,914.53, the lowest finish since Nov. 14.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 3.45 points, or 0.28 percent, lower at 1,220.64.
Decliners were led by shipping, warehouse and brokerage issues, while gainers included air transport and food issues.
The turnover was about 2,842.7 billion yen (about 27.72 billion U.S. dollars).
