Tokyo stocks fell slightly Monday on selling to lock in recent gains amid a dearth of fresh buying incentives, according to Nikkei Asian Review.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 57.69 points, or 0.37%, from Friday at 15,379.44. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 5.37 points, or 0.42%, lower at 1,279.87.
Major decliners included oil and coal products, trading companies as well as pulp and paper.
