Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher early Tuesday thanks to overnight gains on Wall Street and the yen' s depreciation.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 18.43 points, or 0.12 percent, from Monday to 15,148.95.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 3.38 points, or 0.27 percent, at 1,255. 89.
