Cyprus\'s economy contracted 2.3% in the second quarter compared with the same period of 2011, the Nicosia-based Cyprus Statistical Service said in a statement on its website. That was the same as an initial estimate the service made on August 14. The economy shrank 0.7% in the three months to June 30 compared with the first quarter, the statement said.
