\"I appreciated NAM\'s valuable support and once again assured that all nuclear activities of our country will continue for peaceful purposes and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency,\" Soltaniyeh said following a meeting of ambassadors of the NAM to Vienna on Thursday.
The Iranian diplomat stated that 100 countries have reaffirmed their support for Iran\'s nuclear energy program for peaceful objectives.
The NAM ambassadors issued a five-page statement on Thursday, voicing their support for Tehran\'s peaceful nuclear energy activities, he added.
The ambassador noted that the NAM statement would be read out during the upcoming session of the IAEA\'s Board of Governors next week.
Washington and its Western allies accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program, while they have never presented any corroborative evidence to substantiate their allegations. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.
