The euro tumbled under $1.26 on Wednesday, hitting a 22-month low, before an informal EU summit and after the former Greek prime minister warned that Greece might leave the eurozone.
At about 1425 GMT, the European single currency dived as low as $1.2578, touching a low point last seen on July 13, 2010. That compared with $1.2684 late in New York on Tuesday.
