Israeli Minister of Finance Yuval Steinitz warned Saturday that Palestinians ‘unilateral’ move for a statehood bid will signal the end of Israel’s economic cooperation with the Palestinian Authority (PA). Israel will not transfer collected tax revenues, if the PA decides to go again to the UN to recognize a Palestinian state, Steinitz said. Last year Israel withheld Palestinian tax revenues, which led to the PA’s failure to pay salaries for a number of months. They eventually backed down from going to the UN that year.
