A surge in Italian exports in the first five months of the year matched that of Germany at 4%, Eurostat reported Friday. But Germany\'s export volume was almost three times Italy\'s. Italy had a trade deficit of 2.6 billion euros, down from 18.2 in the same period of 2011.
