Youth unemployment in Italy rose to 37.1% in November 2012, the Italian National Statistics Office Istat said Tuesday. The figure is the highest since Istat started recording quarterly records back in 1992. The statistics office said that unemployment for people aged between 15-24 increased by 0.7% compared to October 2012 and by 5% compared to November 2011. Overall unemployment in November remained unchanged however from October 2012, at 11.1%. Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi blamed his successor Mario Monti for Italy\'s difficult economic position. Berlusconi said that Monti\'s strict austerity measure were the main reason behind the rising unemployment rate.
