Italy has the potential to develop a strong economy based on efforts to reduce harmful greenhouse gases and pollution including the use of renewable sources of energy, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development said in a report released on Thursday. \"Over the last 10 years Italy has strengthened research activities and initiatives in the field of technologies linked to the environment and if this trend continues it could develop a specialisation\" in the sector, the report said.
