Japan will host the third meeting of Japan-Arab Economic Forum in December to discuss ways to further enhance economic relations between Japan and the Arab countries, the Japanese Foreign Ministry announced Tuesday.  Representatives from Japan and the 22-member Arab League are expected to gather at the two-day forum from December 19, with high on agenda including energy, environment, investment, finance and trade, according to the ministry. \"It is expected that this forum will lead Japan to enhance its presence and promotional capabilities in the Arab region as well as to promote economic diplomacy, particularly that of resources,\" the ministry said in a statement. \"Each Arab country is now addressing economic issues and diversification of their industries as their main concerns, requesting to Japan to enhance mutual economic relations throughout the entire Arab region. This provides Japanese enterprises with a chance to expand their businesses,\" it said. The forum was established here in 2009 as a framework of the ministerial-level dialogue for the purpose of strengthening mutual economic relations between Japan and the Arab countries through cooperation in a wide range of fields. The second meeting, which was held in Tunisia in December 2010, received 1, 100 participants, including 700 from Arab countries.
