Chairman of Amman Chamber of Commerce Riad Al Saifi on Sunday discussed with Nigerian Ambassador to Jordan Taofeek Oladejo Aropaja, means of cementing bilateral trade ties. Al Saifi stressed the importance of boosting economic cooperation and removing obstacles facing it, especially the visa issue, movement of businessmen between the two countries and the lack of direct flights between Amman and Abuja. He expressed the chamber’s willingness to provide all needed facilities to strengthen the Jordanian-Nigerian economic ties. Al Saifi briefed the ambassador on the chamber’s activities and development as well as on the stable and secure investment climate in the Kingdom. The envoy hailed the two countries’ distinguished political ties, voicing hope to boost economic cooperation and increase the volume of joint trade. Jordan’s exports to Nigeria stood at JD2.5 million last year, while imports amounted to JD180,000.
