Morroco’s parliamentary Financial and Economic Development Committee has ratified a draft law previously submitted by the government, increasing the country’s pension rate to 100MAD. Many have seen the move as Morocco’s ruling Justice and Development Party (JDP) delivering on its promises to protect the most vulnerable groups in society. Moroccan minister Idrees el-Azmy Idreesy claimed the new law would ensure retired citizens would receive nothing below 100MAD, even after tax.
