US President Barack Obama and Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti have agreed \"on the importance of strengthening the capacity of the euro area to respond to the crisis and stimulate growth in Europe.\" During a phone conversation, Monti briefed Obama on the current situation of economic and financial crisis in Europe, particularly in the eurozone as part of the contacts maintained by the U.S. President with European leaders ahead of the G20 summit to be held in Los Cabos (Mexico) on 18 and 19 June.
