The Palestinian Authority minister of agriculture on Saturday concluded a two-day visit to Namibia, after signing a cooperation agreement with his Namibian counterpart. Walid Assaf, joined by the non-resident Palestinian ambassador Ali Halimah, met with Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba, Foreign Minister Utoni Nugoma and Agriculture Minister John Mutorwa during the trip. The agriculture ministers on Friday signed an agreement to strengthen agricultural cooperation between Namibia and Palestine. Later, President Pohamba told delegates Namibia would continue to support Palestinians, noting their right to establish an independent and sovereign state. Meanwhile, Nugoma told Assaf the government would continue to support Palestine's bid for membership of the UN and its agencies.
