Pensions in Spain won\'t be frozen in 2013 and will be adjusted in line with the increased cost of living, deputy prime minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria said in a radio interview Tuesday. Santamaria underlined that pensions had only been frozen by the previous Zapatero government. In September the Social Security agency allocated more than 7.4 billion euro for the payment of contributory pensions, 4.4% more than the same month in 2011, according to data published today by the Ministry of Work. The adjustment to the cost of living is estimated at 4 billion euro.
