Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi made a decision to cancel tax increase on a number of commodities and services. In a statement late Sunday, Morsi assigned the government to carry on the decision, saying that \"the leadership is well aware of the burden felt by the Egyptian people especially at this dire economic period.\" \"Decisions to increase taxes on some commodities and services will be suspended to prevent the increase in prices,\" said Morsi, adding that the government would look into measures to help better the economy for the sake of the Egyptian people.
