Italian electricity consumption slumped 9.6% in September 2012 compared to the same period last year, according to data released by grid operator Terna. Demand for electricity totalled 26.4 billion kWh in the month of September. The drop was the steepest monthly decline since April 2009, when consumption fell 10.5%.
