Serbia recorded a USD 616.2 million surplus in trade with CEFTA countries in the first half of 2012, resulting mainly from the export of agricultural products, iron and steel, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia stated. In the respective period, Serbia\'s exports amounted to USD 1.35 billion, while imports reached USD 742.8 million, meaning that the export- import ratio stood at 183 percent. Imported items mainly related to hard coal, coke and briquettes, iron and steel, electricity, as well as fruit and vegetables. Besides Serbia, the CEFTA agreement also comprises Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, and Montenegro. The CEFTA region is Serbia\'s second most important foreign trade partner. Observed by countries, the greatest surplus was gained in the external trade with the former Yugoslav Republics - Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. Regarding other countries, in the first half of the year, the greatest surplus was noted in external trade with Romania and Slovakia.
