Spain is increasingly poor, the Red Cross said today. The number of people who sought the help of the humanitarian organization for food, clothes or other needs were 100,000 more compared to 2010, according to the Spanish brand of the Red Cross. The Spanish Red Cross assisted one million people in dire financial conditions due to the crisis only in 2011, the organization said in its \'social vulnerability\' report released today. Some 82 percent of those assisted lived under the poverty level with monthly revenues under 627 euros, while 64.86 percent were unemployed. The organization also said 51 percent of the people it helped had not been awarded any form of state aid. Most of them were men but, the Red Cross warned, the number of women seeking help is increasing.
