The association of Spanish car producers Anfac on Tuesday presented a plan to increase production to 3 million vehicles a year in Spain. Now ranking the ninth in the list of car-producing nations, Spain will drop out of the top-10 list by the end of the year with a production of around 2 million vehicles, Anfac said. The plan aims to have 2.5 million Spanish-produced cars exported and 500,000 sold on the currently depressed national market. The plan will create 73,000 new jobs and lead to a 4-percent growth of the country\'s overall exports and a 1-percent rise of its GDP, said Anfac Vice-President Mario Armero. Meanwhile, it would help to lower the average age of cars on Spanish roads from 10 years to 8 to 8.5 years.
