Despite the political turmoil in Egypt, trade exchange between Poland and Egypt has doubled in 2012 to stand at 300 million dollars, a senior official at the Polish embassy here said. Polish imports from the Arab state stood at 200 million dollars, while Egyptian imports from the European state at 100 million dollars, Head of Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Polish embassy in Cairo Michal Mierzwa said at a press conference Monday evening. Poland is confident in the strength of the Egyptian economy, adding that several Polish companies are interested in pumping investments to Egypt. He added also that many Egyptian investors are keen on doing business in Poland and its neighboring countries. Meanwhile, he noted that Poland has recently arranged a visit for an archeological Egyptian team to get first-hand experience of the latest developments in the field of monuments\' preservation and restoration. Seeking to bolster trade cooperation with Egypt, Poland organizes seminars and exhibitions in the fields of metals, energy, transport, agriculture and monuments restoration, he added.
