FNC to discuss federal draft law on domestic workers

The Federal National Council, FNC, will hold its 17th session of the ordinary session of the 16th legislative chapter on Tuesday, at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, chaired by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the FNC, to discuss a draft federal law on domestic workers.
During the session, FNC members will address three labour-related questions to Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
Hamad Ahmed Al Rahoumi will ask a question about the travel rights of foreign workers without their employer’s permission, and Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalaita will ask a question about the classification and training of skilled workers in certain professions before obtaining their work permits. Saeed Saleh Al Rumaithi will also ask a question about hiring domestic workers from Bangladesh.
The FNC will read a letter from Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, about the reservations of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on certain amendments by the FNC on a draft federal law on tax procedures.
The FNC will also view two letters addressed to the government, including its recommendations for protecting and promoting livestock and maritime production and the policy of the Federal Authority for Land and Maritime Transport.
The FNC members will then view its statement for the 36th anniversary of the establishment of the Gulf Cooperation Council on 25th May.
