Egyptian singer Zizi Adel has denied media reports suggesting she has retreated from the limelight because of a boyfriend who had told her to stop singing. “This isn’t true at all,” she told Arabstoday in an exclusive interview. “I’m not in a relationship with a young man imposing retirement on me – it’s fabricated news.” Adel revealed that the real reason for her absence was due to her father’s illness, forcing her to tend to him at his bedside. But, she added, there is new material on the way. “I’ve recorded lots of songs for my new album – I’ve postponed everything until the situation in Egypt is calmer. Adel last released an album with Rotana in 2009.
