Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper will resign as Conservative leader after losing legislative elections to the Liberals led by Justin Trudeau, the party said Monday.
"I have spoken to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and he has instructed me to reach out to the newly elected parliamentary caucus to appoint an interim leader" and start the process of selecting a new leader, party president John Walsh said in a statement.
