French court OKs use of Sarkozy recordings in corruption probe

A French court ruled Thursday that secret wiretap recordings of former president Nicolas Sarkozy talking with his lawyer could be used as evidence in an ongoing corruption probe, one of his legal team confirmed.
Sarkozy, now head of the opposition UMP, is accused of discussing the idea of giving a magistrate a lucrative job in exchange for inside information on another corruption investigation related to his campaign financing.
