EU border agency Frontex on Tuesday said 710,000 migrants entered the European Union in the first nine months of this year as the 28-member bloc struggles with a record refugee crisis, compared to only 282,000 in all of 2014.
"The total number of migrants who crossed the EU’s external borders in the first nine months of this year rose to more than 710,000 with the Greek islands on the Aegean continuing to be the most affected by the unprecedented inflow of people," the Warsaw-based agency said in a statement.
