Hurricane Matthew left four people dead and damaged nearly 200 homes in the Dominican Republic, officials said Tuesday after the storm slammed into the island the country shares with Haiti.
The Category Four hurricane, which also claimed three lives in Haiti, forced Dominican officials to evacuate nearly 800 people and cut off 31 towns, said the Center for Emergency Operations.
