Large blast in downtown Kabul, military vehicles damaged

A large explosion hit downtown Kabul on Tuesday, damaging at least two military vehicles close to the international airport, AFP journalists at the scene said, with casualties feared.
The blast came on the main road to the airport, around 500 metres (550 yards) from the US embassy and near a base for foreign troops.
