Russia says jets intercepted US spy planes 'according to rules'

Russian fighter jets on Wednesday intercepted US military spy planes over the Black Sea "in strict accordance with international rules" as they tried to snoop on Russian army exercises, Moscow said.
The defence ministry said in a statement it dispatched Su-27 fighter jets to check out the US P-8 Poseidon planes as they "twice tried to get close to the Russian border over the Black Sea without their transponders turned on".
