The United States and Cuba, moving to restore ties after decades of Cold War enmity, made progress Thursday in historic talks, a US State Department official said.
The official was referring to discussions between Secretary of State John Kerry and Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez. The countries' presidents were to attend a regional summit Friday and Saturday in Panama.
